Pacific National Bank takes pride in being a leader in technology in the financial institutions market. They contacted Holt Systems to create a process to capture check images through their sorting equipment, process the items, create imaged bank statements and have customer records instantly available for superior customer service. Ease of audits and security of data against natural disaster were side benefits to the system.
How can small to mid-sized banks compete with the technology a multi-billion dollar bank can afford? Pacific National bank tries to keep on the cutting edge of technology. PNB was using microfilm for the storage of Items encoded and processed on the NCR Sorter. In addition other documents related to DDA/Savings, Loans, Letters of Credit, etc., were stored in file cabinets in the respective departments.

In 1993 PNB executives realized they needed to replace the microfilm and file cabinets with a system that would be more cost effective and allow them the most integration. After much research PNB installed Optika imaging software for the image platform and Holt System's software for the processing of Items from the sorter, workflow integration and printing of image statements.
The systems has proven to be beneficial bank-wide, at both the employee and customer level. The system paid for itself within the first two years of operation. All customer documentation, and Items from the sorter are online improving customer service to a point of One Call Resolution.
