Kenneth Lee, MD

Dr. Kenneth Lee understood in 1993 that document imaging was the best way to achieve his goal of quick access to patient information. He started with a basic system storing encounter forms on a stand alone station.

Over time he has converted to a completely paperless office. The imaging system was initially implemented to facilitate quick production of medical records for billing purposes. Dr. Lee assures us that time is money and the sooner that billing issues are resolved the faster claims are paid. Instant access to medical records is the key!

The many factors which led to the decision to eliminate paper based patient charts included protection against natural disaster. South Florida is prone to hurricanes, and document imaging was the best way to enable backup of essential patient information.

The staff frequently comments on how much they enjoy always having immediate access to patient charts. They love not lugging heavy stacks of charts and their backs appreciate not manipulating the cumbersome chart racks. Instead of hearing the repeated question "Where is the chart?" you now see smiling faces in Dr. Lee's office.

"Working with eMedRec has saved us a great deal of time, as well as manpower. It has been great to experience the capabilities of this program. Before EMR it took one week to produce requested records, and at least one employee to copy them. The doctor has been able to utilize his time in better ways than buried in paper charts."
"Thank You Holt Systems"
